Success Interviews With Brenda Craig
by sesan oguntade

Sometimes ago i had this great interview with Brenda Craig. She is a dynamic woman of God who has relied heavily on inspirations from God to get things done. She is also an author and founder of Spirit Food for Life Ministries. She shares her views on how she has motivated herself to act on her ideas.

You will learn so much from this short interview.

1. Sesan: Do you agree with me that lots of people are finding it difficult acting on their ideas? What do you think is the cause of this?

Brenda: Yes, and I believe one of the most basic causes of their unwillingness to fulfill or act on their ideas is fear of failure. They are afraid to take a risk for fear they will lose monetarily, emotionally or physically in some way.

Secondly, I trust most do not have a sense of purpose and either consciously or subconsciously believe they have nothing of value to contribute. Their ideas are just that; ideas. Anyone can have them or someone else has already thought of it or doing it anyway.

Thirdly, I think failure to act on ideas is caused by unwillingness to put the effort forth to see something intangible become tangible. In other words it is just too much work.

When I get an idea I choose to dream a bit, brainstorm a bit and let it ferment in my heart and mind until I come to a rightful conclusion about its potential and viability. All the while I am doing this is I am in constant prayer and interaction with the Lord God as to what He thinks about it. I let the process run its course making adjustments along the way. When I know the time has come to act I remind myself not to despise small beginnings. In other words, if I want to write a book I must first be willing to write a paragraph.

2. Sesan: What do you think in your own view can be done to make people act on their visions?

Brenda: I can only answer this based on experience. The people I deal with on a regular basis through my website seem to need constant encouragement and/or mentoring.

Some time back a lady contacted me with a comment on an article I had written. The grammar was bad and the spelling was bad, but the comment was beautiful. I emailed her and told her to put the comment on the website in the appropriate place. After she did this I went in and corrected it and she was amazed. We began communicating on a regular basis and one year later she was contributing to the articles on my website. The dream of her heart to write was fulfilled. In fact she is one of the major contributors of inspiration in my recently published book, Carvings In His Palm, What God Thinks When He Whispers Your Name. How did this happen? It happened through encouragement and mentoring. You can help people act on their visions by believing in themplacing value in an on what they desire to do.

3. Sesan: How have you motivated yourself to act on your plans?

Brenda: I motivate myself daily in the Word of God. I do not allow the doubts and assaults of my own fears, misgivings, or wrong self-assessment have power over what I feel God has called me to do. When I find myself struggling I take time to read the comments others have sent me in reference to how what I dowhat I write has blessed their lives. I take time to rehearse the vision over and over in my heart until I let go of my struggle and embrace my purpose once again.

However, the most important thing I tell myself is that if I only help one person then I have done my jobthat if only one person is reading what I write it is OK with me. In doing this I give great value to the reader and therefore am inclined to persist. I am motivated by the need in others to keep on keeping on.

4.Sesan: What are the major constraints you always face whenever you want to act on a particular idea?

Brenda: The major constraints I face are the lack of time and having the ability to organize it in such a way that I prioritize everything correctly. I also need a lot of help in the area of technology to make most of my ideas come to fruition which usually boils down to finances.

5. Sesan: Please, can you suggest other relevant personal development sites you have visited?

Brenda: I am not sure the sites I visit are deemed personal development but as for me, they have helped me to grow. I find that if I grow as a spiritual person then I am more likely to embrace the ideas I believe God puts in my heart. I firmly believe the root of all natural success starts at the spiritual level and is based in right relationship to God. Therefore, I must first seek my personal development in Him and then I will be obedient to follow through.

I visit www.allaboutgod.com where you can look up any subject matter to find information with a foundation in God's Word.
