Molly the Cat - Too Shy to Jump In?
by Nancy Quinn

Her little pink nose peeked around the porcelain pedestal, whiskers twitching. Would she venture out to join her furry friends in a grand adventure through the house today? Ah, but no, the little nose retreated back to the safe haven of the space behind the pedestal sink in the upstairs bathroom.

Shy and sweet-spirited, the new addition to the family was afraid to come out of the bathroom and join her other three adopted cat sisters and brother. Their rambunctious adventures were too much and she preferred the safety of the linoleum floor and stark furnishings. Not forcing her to adjust to her new surroundings too quickly, her owner faithfully brought her food and water to her little kingdom.

As the second week came to an end, her curiosity began to get the best of her. The antics of the other three cats racing down the hall after a tiny ball piqued her interest and she momentarily hesitated at the edge of the doorway and then burst into the fray of furry toes and tails as she victoriously captured the culprit. The tiny ball escaped from her grey paws and she bounded down the stairs to retrieve her prize. Only her owners noticed the big victory. Molly the Cat had officially joined the family.

Whether you have a shy spirit or a bold witness, God needs your personality in helping to further the kingdom of Christ! If you're feeling like you don't contribute much as a follower of Christ because you're not bold in your witness, I encourage you to embrace your own personal style and ask God how you can use it. While some people need to have a bold confrontation in order to receive the good news of Christ, others react better to a soft approach. God has blessed people with different personalities and your shy spirit is just what someone needs today!

Romans 10:14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

May God bless these words as I strive to encourage others in their walk with Christ. Please contact me if you would like to request a specific lesson that Lucy Mouse can teach your children or if you would like a coloring page to be sent to match the story!
