Hate Crimes
by PamFord Davis

Society and the world system coin many phrases of terminology. Soon they slip in to casual conversation as if we always used them. A current example they are imprinting on our brains is "hate crimes." They usually describe a murder incident; and I am always annoyed. When one person murders another it is usually a form of hate!

I realize that many things contribute to that act of violence, snuffing out life in one created in God's image. Even if it is a random act, hate must be present, hatred of others, authority, themselves, or even God Himself. Reporters often try to separate groups of violence in the hate crime category.

Hate crimes are nothing new, only the label is a current trend. "If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well. But they have done this in order that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their Law, they hated Me without a cause (John 15:24-25 NAS)." I wonder how court systems would rule on that today

Do not be surprised if you are not welcomed in to "the in crowd." We are in good company. "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you (John 15:18)."
