This brings us back to the time period when Stephen was martyred and to the persecution that erupted because of it. 2. "travelled as far as Phenice and Cyprus, and Antioch" a. Phenice [5403 * Phoinike] [Zodhiates: Phoenicia, the narrow coastline stretching along the north east Mediterranean.] 3. "preaching to none but Jews only." a.
