OUR JESUS, SAVIOUR poem
by Richard L. Provencher

Our Jesus, Saviour

Left Him alone, broken and at rest.
No longer scourged and mocked, nor
tormented by those who were jealous
of His desire to help, to love and
heal. He lay still, wrapped
in covering, lifeless in a borrowed grave.
Outside the Sepulcher, others waited
and wondered. Was He the Messiah?
Was He the One who was foretold
in the words of scholars? They dared to
question the possibilities. And slowly
and irrevocably the truth became known.
He is alive among us. Forgive us
dear Lord, Saviour, and Son of God.
