PASSAGE OF TIME poem
by Richard L. Provencher

Passage of Time

Seatbelts provide
a corral of firmness
fingers bunched
above
Arkansas
jet passengers as
prisoners in flight
stewardess' alarmed
by weather
forecasts
tornado velocity
a combo of air currents.

Reality is contact
with our Boeing 737
a grasping kite of rivets
storm surrounding
everyone rapid-bonding
eyes wide
lips in motion.

Journey's end
a happy occasion
family hugs.
