The Body of Christ
by Ken John

Who would ever have dreamed that in the crumpled
imperfection of the the weekly routine of church life and
In the absolute normality and Cinderella-like
Grind of human labor and endeavor

The grace of God comes down and invests
Normality of human frailty with
Incarnate glory!

So that the ordinary round of
Nothing special happening on the church front
May be scored as
Fellowship had
Reconciliation and peace made
Cultural boundaries crossed
Friendships forged
Outcasts brought near
The lonely invited in
The comfortless, comforted
The old and corrupt
Restored!

Where worldviews are shaped and
times enjoyed and
change happens,
music is symphonized in fledgling worship
The Creator is praised!

Where little children are brought to Jesus,
Is blessing!

Gloriously, miraculously,
the body of Christ
harboring that little bit of
Light
Just a little oil in the lamp
Keeps it burning!

Until
Rejoicing miraculously in eternity,
Young,old,male,female,slave,free,rich,poor
One!

And when we see Him
We shall be like Him,
Forever!
