Thank You, An Honored Sacrifice
by Nancy Quinn

"Here's your peanut butter and jelly sandwich, honey. Now what do you say?" Saying "thank you" was ingrained in me as a child, and something that I taught my own child to say as well. It's important to show your appreciation to people for the kind things they do. And in a world full of people rushing through their lives, sometimes simple manners to strangers are forgotten. Taking a moment to hold open a door, letting someone who is trying to merge into traffic ahead of you with a wave, we are all connected as children of God. When others do something nice for us, "thanks" is such a simple word but is something that lifts our spirits when we hear it. It shows we are appreciated.

Did you know the Lord feels that way too when he hears us stop and say thank you for the things he blesses us with throughout the day? I thank the Lord every morning for everything I can think of; my health, home, family, job, the beautiful sunrise, the weather, even a spot close to the front door in the grocery store parking lot on a rainy day! The list can be endless, can't it? I encourage you to remember to honor the Lord by thanking him as you go through your busy day. He loves you with an everlasting love and looks forward to talking with us!

Psalm 50:23 "But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me."

May God bless these words as I strive to encourage others in their walk with Christ. Please contact me if you would like to request a specific lesson that Lucy Mouse can teach your children or if you would like a coloring page to be sent to match the story!
