by Marijo Phelps Prisoner Set Free Jesus, You came to visit me When I was locked within despair Sin slammed shut the door forever I was truly a prisoner there Jesus, again You looked in on me Touched my infirmity and pain Brought on by rejecting You And You turned my heart again You knocked with importunity Until I gladly opened wide To Your cleansing forgiveness And invited You inside No longer is life a prison With my sin sick soul inside Jesus threw away the chains and bars Since I choose in Him to abide. Empty Empty am I. Please mend the breaches? As I die To me Refill me With You alone Dear Jesus, I plead, As I try to praise. Carried On Carried On In timeless rest, 'Neath wings of purest gold By furnace fire tested, I soar above, Not on strength Of my own, But only that Of my Savior's love.
