Pop Quiz
by PamFord Davis

Do you remember the dreaded pop quiz given in school? The teacher announced an unscheduled examination; and the entire class moaned and rolled their eyes! Most of us do not include taking tests in our top ten enjoyable experiences. If given ample time to study we feel like we are at least given a fair break. It becomes our choice; we can get prepared in advance, cram the night before, or foolishly wing it. The pop quiz is a different story entirely!

The teacher is dishing out unfair treatment; or maybe they are just trying to get our attention. The Apostle Paul, coming from a very strict Jewish educational background knew very well about study and results. "Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? - unless indeed you are disqualified. But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified,
(2 Corinthians 13:5-6 NKJ)." That is one examination we can not afford to fail! Paul made it an open book, open heart pop quiz. We must be sure we will be in the Book of Life when it is opened. We have opened our heart to the Lord Jesus and His kingdom!
