Winning Mentality
by Oge Maduka "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" Proverbs 23:7. Also, Phillp.4:13 says; "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Because a man is a product of his thoughts, we have to develop the right mental attitude to excel in life. If you think you are a failure then you are one and if you think you are winner, you are winner indeed. Like we know, one of the places the enemy builds his stronghold is in our minds. The devil knows that God has planned so much for us to enjoy as his children and in this life time, so the first point of attack is usually our mind, planting seeds of fear, depression, discouragement, inadequacy and making challenges appear so much bigger than they are! That is why the bible tells us to "cast down imaginations and every thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" 2 Cor.10:5. In trying to achieve and maintain a winning mentality, we must not be moved by sight, the things we see or the circumstances around us. We should be moved only by the word of God. Your future is not determined by the present situation, it is determined by God's pre-ordained will concerning you. God, because He is the creator of all things, is able to bring growth and life out of the most unlikely places. "for he shall grow up before him as a tender plant and as a root out of dry ground." Plants don't normally grow and blossom on dry land. But God in His infinite power can make any thing happen when, where and how He wants it, to fulfill his purpose, irrespective of the natural laws surrounding that particular situation. Stop limiting God by your thinking. THINK BIG AND PLAN BIG. God is able to do all things. Bear in mind that most times the ridiculous goes before the miraculous. What dreams did you have in the past that had been discarded and forgotten because of series of set backs? God can restore those lost years, lost joy, lost freedom and wasted efforts. Sometimes it takes a disappointment to motivate us to achieve great things. As long as God is alive in you, never give up on your dream. Just hand it over to God and he will make it a dream come true! God's ultimate desire is to bless His children. He deserves our fellowship and obedience so that He can bless us and as the word of God says, the blessing of the Lord, maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it. The book of Job36:11 says, "If they obey and serve him, they will spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure. This means that the secret of winning and staying a winner is to obey and serve God without wavering in our faith in Him. In living in service and obedience of God, He will surely turn your points of ridicule into streams of miracles. The truth is that you are God's biggest deal, but don't forget, He blesses where His reputation is safe! Is His reputation safe with you? Think about it!
