LOOK UPON A MAN poem
by Richard L. Provencher Once he held court among the wildness, young legs able to dash headstrong through thickets nothing fazed him; not ravines filled with hubris, nor ridges rough on feet seeking purchase held down for a while when bad health threatened; survived. Now he shuffles from closet to kitchen to washroom and back again. His eyes still sparkle, smells the wind above the trees and senses the rise of trout as they peer above stream's surface. But the man not only remembers, he is at peace. Content to sit gazing out the window, happy to read his Bible though he struggles the Word his cane of satisfaction. 2009 Richard L. Provencher Richard enjoys writing poems; many of which have been published in Print and Online. He and his wife, Esther are also co-authors of stories and a print novel. They are "born again" Christians and very busy in their church, Abundant Life Victory International, in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia. Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
