This Heart
by Rhonda McKissack I know this heart looks empty And it belongs to me Trials and pain surround my life And I don't feel joy and free The darkness covers my worship And I seemed to pray in vein I want God to show himself And release me from the pain And then the amazing happens As he puts his hand on me And says my child I never left But it was you who left me He brings me out of the darkness And answers my prayers so slow But he is teaching me in the process The things I need to know So when you feel defeated By the world that's full of sin Just hold on to the promise That Jesus is with you till the end Rhonda McKissack is married and a mother of one teenage son.
