The Healing Process
by Onyekachukwu Ukeje

"What can I say for you? With what can I compare you, O Daughter of Jerusalem? To what can I liken you, that I may comfort you, O Virgin Daughter of Zion? Your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you?" Lamentations 2:13(NIV).

Healing is the process of restoration to a state of good health, or wellness, or wholeness, or completeness. The healing could be in any area spiritual, physical, political, family, business, relationships, education, mental, psychological and the like.

There is usually, or there can be no healing without the [application of] the necessary healing agents agents with healing properties (the ability to restore to wholeness). This is because there can be no change, positive or negative, without the necessary change agents and healing is one of such changes.

One of the reasons people do not experience healing in their lives or in some areas of their lives is because they have not applied the necessary healing agents to those areas of their lives, and in adequate doses or proportions to speed or effect recovery.

And just like the speed or rate of a process can be increased greatly by a catalyst (a person or thing that precipitates change), so it is with the healing process.

There are some things that speed up healing processes. It could be the right relationships, the right environment, the right endeavours or activity. Other examples include the right circumstance, the right structure or nature of things. Even faith can be a very strong catalyst.

Bring whatever your problem to God this day and let Him effect the healing you need in your life. Let Him put you in the right environment, with right relationships, giving you the necessary change or healing agent(s) for your healing to be effected. Just like a surgeon will have you relax on the theatre table to the extent of applying anesthesia, so you have to relax in God's arm like Adam (Genesis 2:21-22) that God may produce that beautiful result you hope for in your life.
