Awake, for He Calls
by harvestgal Ndaguba

I hear Him, calling for us, to awake from our sleep. So fixated on self, we don't see the hurting all around us. Broken souls and down cast hearts, hiding their shame beyond a plastic smile and a false appearance. We don't see the pain they hold within, nor the troubles that weigh them down. We're so consumed with getting where we are going on time, or hurrying home to do what we want, perhaps watch TV, read a book or take a nap, that we don't see their needs. We are too focused on our own wants. We neglect them the dedicated prayer time they need. We don't hear our Father speaking. We neglect our time with Him and miss His instructions.

We come to Him, just to meet our own needs. Often, giving Him our list of wants and needs, like shopping at a store, then getting to the cashier and saying, "Jesus paid for it, so give me what I want." We forget we are His servants. We forget He is the Master. We forget He has a purpose for every minute of our day. He has plans. It's His will we live to fulfill. We are not to be shopping for what we want, but what He wants, for His will and His purposes. He brought us and redeemed us with such a great price. He redeemed them too, but they don't know. It's up to us to reach them with the message. He longs to heal their broken hearts, but we are His body on this Earth. He looks for us to be yielded vessels to reach them with His love. When will we awake. When shall we surrender our will to Him. When shall we let Him live again through us. Awake, for He calls. The world is waiting and He's using you to reach them. Show them His love and truth and Let Him bring them healing through you.
