Talking In His Sleep
by PamFord Davis

Have you been talking in your sleep? We talk so much during the day that it is likely we keep up that chatter while we snooze! When we hear a mate talking in their sleep it can be pretty amusing. We are tempted to try and encourage them to keep talking. We want to uncover subconscious juicy secrets! It's possible that what we hear has no foundation of fact. Television viewed earlier, or spicy foods might kick in crazy dreams and loosen the tongue.

At times scriptures refer to death as sleeping. "These things He said, and after that He said to them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up,
(John 11: 11 NKJ)." Later Jesus spoke clearly. "Then Jesus said to them plainly, Lazarus is dead (John 11: 14 NKJ)." We can deal with talking in your sleep, but talking after your dead is not possible!

In a way Abel still communicated with God. He pointed the finger of guilt in Cain's direction! "By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks (Hebrews 11:4 NKJ)." Jesus sacrificial death speaks loud and clear! "to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of the sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel (Hebrews 12:24 NKJ)." Jesus lives! When He talks to us in our sleeping or waking hours it is a message we need to hear!
