Sweet Treats
by PamFord Davis

We know by experience the enjoyment of eating our favorite sweet treats. They seem to beckon our senses of sight, taste and smell, luring us into a trap of indulgence! Friends and family host holiday gatherings and parties; and we give in to the repeated opportunities to please our sweet tooth. Enjoy the festivities; but remember the scales keep count better than we do!

There is one sweet that is never to be rationed or denied. Friendship is sweet, satisfying and sent from above! "Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a man's friend gives delight by hearty counsel (Proverbs 27:9 NKJ)." We savor the sweetness of enduring friendships. Seeing old friends brings joy to our heart. We may "chew the fat," getting sweet morsels from shared experiences. They wear the sweet fragrance of compassion and understanding, filling the air with the scent of orange blossoms. Friendship is sweet and in short supply. Do not use moderation!
