Christmas Is For children
by Linda Lariscy

People say that Christmas is for children. If the glee on their faces is any indication, it must be true. You, too, may be a bit chipper Christmas morning if there's a child still in you! Yes, I agree that children make Christmas a day to remember.

Christmas is Jesus' birthday. We have heard most of our lives how He was born in a stable, laid in a manger, and wrapped with swaddling clothes. His birth created quite a stir then, and, today, 2000 years later, His birth is still stirring up people. Some people get mad when you say "Merry Christmas" these days. Who would have thought that a child, lying in a manger, would create such conflict?

Maybe this year, the child in you just isn't up for Christmas. Maybe this year, things just don't feel right. Maybe this is your year to experience something far from a fantasy world of elves and letters sent to the North Pole. Is it time for you to experience a new birth, no, not in a stable, but in your heart? If it is, get ready for a stir!

Luke 18:16-17
16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
