Torn Between Two Lovers
by PamFord Davis

Are you fickle? Do you try to pass around your affection like dealing a deck of cards? We admire loyalty and dedication in those we know. Tender stories of couples celebrating anniversaries of over sixty years pull at our heart strings and put a lump in our throat. They tackled life together and plan to face death together.

Will we be faithful to God, or try to worship Him and the ways of the world? Jesus clearly explained we can not have it both ways. "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24 NKJ)." Mammon is a false god of wealth, offering us only empty promises. Our love, service and worship are built on a foundation of confidence in the Lord God.
