The Cost of Love
by Julie Seeto

Would you give your own life for a loved one?
Would you lay down your life for a friend?
Would you offer your life for an innocent man,
Or for one on whom many depend?

Would you offer to die for a stranger -
Who was neither your kith nor your kin;
For one who did not know you
But lived his life full of sin?

Would you shed your blood for your enemy,
Give freedom where none was due?
Would you die in the place of the guilty -
For one who rejected you?

JESUS DID

'Twould be noble to die for a loved one,
A friend or an innocent man -
But to die in the place of the guilty,
Who on earth can understand?

He died while we did not know Him;
He died to set us free;
He took our guilt upon Himself
And died for you and me.

[Romans 5:6-8]
