Ben

Are you the baby of the family? Often the youngest is given certain privileges older children never receive. Parents mellow as the years pass; and the last in line do not always have to answer to the strict supervision older siblings experienced. As older children leave the nest there is also frequently more money to spend on the last to test their wings. There is another benefit to being the baby. Older brothers and sisters try to protect you, and feel a close bond.

Benjamin and Joseph were the only children born to Rachel and Jacob. Jacob pampered Benjamin after Joseph disappeared. The two brothers were separated by national barriers between the Promised Land and Egypt for many years. God's providence reunited them and the reunion surfaced buried emotions. "Then he fell on his brother Benjamin's neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck (Genesis 45:14 NKJ)." Tears of joy were shared and the pain of separation subsided. Ben, Oh Ben
