Backup Plan

Backup Plan

We all have backup plans. We schedule a party outside and it starts to rain, we move the party inside. We make plans for a vacation and if something comes up we reschedule. We pray for healing and run to the doctor when we are not better within a couple of hours. We pray that God will help our finances and then take out a loan or work 2 jobs.
There are people that teach when God created man, that if man should fall then God would get upset and make another way to fellowship with man. If all else failed he would send his son. When his son came; if the Jews were to reject him as Messiah, then he would have to die for them.
In Genesis 31:19 Rachel stole the idols that belonged to Laban her father. The idols she took were the ones that would give her a double inheritance when something happened to her father. It was her backup plan, just incase Jacob's God could not provide for her.
What we must realize is that God does not need a backup plan; he knows everything from the beginning to the end. He knows when something is going to fail, so that does not surprise him. God does not have to rely on man for anything, but allows man to participate in his plan. All through the Bible we read about God's plans and how man was influenced by them.
It is about time we started trusting God and quit making up backup plans for if God should fail. My Bible states that Jesus never fails and by our faith so shall it be. We must get in the word and start building our faith so that when we pray we can see what we ask for through faith and it will come to pass.
What is your need? What is your backup plan? Are you willing to trust God to supply your need according to his riches in glory? Get rid of your backup plan and see what God will do.
