Drag City
by PamFord Davis

Are you a NASCAR enthusiast? Do you spend weekend afternoons at the race track? Are you a couch potato counting the laps of your favorite race drivers? It can easily become an addiction for young and old. Maybe you not only get a rush watching races, but also have a tendency to speed. Drag races are in your blood. I personally have no desire to drive at a fast speed. I do not like the feeling of danger and fear losing control of the car.

If NASCAR existed in the Old Testament I have a hunch that Jehu would be number one on the circuit. (2 Kings 9:13-21) Jehu is declared king of Israel. He rode his chariot to Jezreel and a watchman viewed him approaching. "So the watchman reported, saying, He went up to them and is not coming back; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously (2 Kings 9:20 NKJ)!" His reputation for speed preceded his arrival.
