Knowing the will of God
by beatrice ofwona

One must be born of God in order to be like God. When we do God's will we please Him enough for Him to bless us because He has laid down the commandments in order that we, His children, may adhere to them and be blessed in return. God never contradicts Himself nor does His will contradict His word. He remains faithful enough to ensure that that which He has purposed will eventually come to pass. We should therefore arm ourselves with the knowledge and will of Him whom we serve and trust the presence of the Spirit through whom He talks to us so that we may engage in actions that are pleasing to Him. We should also develop patience and persevering and learn to wait on Him to deliver that which we have asked for in prayer and petitions for He will swing the doors open when He is ready.

Providence is described as God's care for human beings and all that He has created and in this too we need to be keen in order to take note of instances of when and where He intervenes in our lives in small and subtle ways. In the instances when we are wracked with uncertainties concerning a decision, it pays to be quiet because our loving God will certainly come with the much needed answers or simply to confirm something to us. There are many instances that need our prayers; in depression, in dejection, in losses, or when we are in the wilderness when nothing makes sense, prayer in communion with our maker makes for great comfort.

Sometimes trials come to bring fulfillment in our lives. In the book of Mathew14:22 we are told of the disciples who had never seen the master walk on water but the time that they got to see this, their eyes were opened to another realm of worship and blessings. In this knowledge they became aware of the presence and power of the one with whom they walked, ate and shared. The apostle Peter only started drowning when he looked at his circumstances instead of laying his focus on he who had called him forth. Much is given to us according to the faith that we have. Even sicknesses freeze over in the presence of God if we truly believe in His healing hand.

Let us therefore put high gear on the things that matter, things that bring results such as prayer and fasting. Studying the word of God is also very important so that we can in-fill ourselves with the truth that dispels the lies from the world which is the kingdom of the enemy. Many perish , not because they knowingly do wrong things but only because they do not have knowledge. No matter who we are, knowledge is our amour and if we are to fight the battle of life then we have to fight the ultimate battle against carnality in order that our spirituality may be strengthened, for what would it benefit a man to gain the whole world but to lose his life, the everlasting kind. Let our sights be focused on what matters rather than what is myopically in our vision. No valuable mineral was ever found at the surface, sometimes we have to scratch below in order to find out that which is hidden. At the bottom is that which, more often than not,is more valuable than what shines at the top.

May these words (sermons), from various men and women of God be a blessing to all.
