Who am I, dear Jesus, if you are not?
by beatrice ofwona Oh that I may know you more! I hide in the shadow of your wings Helpless and sometimes weary Yet always in the knowledge That it was finished at the cross For I need not fear And I need not weep And I need not despair Because in you I find new hope, Of a new life For who am I if you are not? I die daily That I may let you be Because I may be in the world But I am not of it In you I have found Life of a new kind Fulfilling, Sometimes crushing But its all for my good That I may be more like you Less like me For who am I if you are not? I am where I want to be Outside of myself I now cease to be It is no longer about me But more and more about you Outside of my new self I stagger in confusion Lost and overcome Because I must learn to let go In you I find peace Oh that I may know you more! For who am I if you are not? (word count-190) May these words (sermons), from various men and women of God be a blessing to all. contact:[email protected] Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
