The Ultimate Price
by Marijo Phelps

My final critique
My last review
I stand in awe
My Savior, of you

Being on the outside
Looking in
But having asked
Forgiveness of sin

I wait in heaven
With dropped jaw
Not even comprehending
The splendor of all

Most welcome words
I've yet to hear
Yet standing tall
Without any fear

You see I asked
Years ago
To be forgiven
I am, I know

Looking around
Can't take it in
Heaven's wonder
Me, forgiven of sin

You would have gone
Been whipped
And died
My Savior, crucified

Had there only been
The one of me
You'd still have died
Upon that tree

Unbelievable price
Paid complete
My soul you bought
Satan's defeat

You so majestic
I so small
Your eyes turn
Kneeling, I fall

You stepped down
Arms opened wide
Lifted and drew me
To your side

I saw those scars
In your nail pierced hands
My many choices
Your death demands

But you paid it all
Upon that tree
Put to death
For many of "me"

Boldly claiming
For all to hear
"Well done daughter,
My servant so dear."

My final critique
My last review
You lifted me up
Drew me closer to You.
