God is Great
by Sharlyn Guthrie God is great! Great in power. Mountains tremble, oceans roar! Life lavished on creature, flower multiplies from shore to shore. God is great! Great in beauty. At His sight creation sings! Rainbow fire all-consuming, graced with jewels and angel wings God is great! Great in knowledge. Knows my longings and my frame! Richest depths of unsearched wisdom calls each child and star by name God is great! Great in justice. Holy standard of the law! Righteous judge, Who knows no equal, Substitute for human flaw. God is great! Great in mercy. Oh what suffering, pain, and grief raised this creature weak and lowly, brought my hungering soul relief! God is great beyond all measure sovereign, holy, faithful, good! Heart of mine, behold your Treasure, known yet never understood. I love the Lord Jesus with all of my heart. Besides being a teacher, I have been a newspaper guest columnist and have had several short stories and poems published.
