What the microwave taught me about sin.
by Annie Glasel Could microwaves and other household kitchen appliances were meant as object lessons on sin? Here are a few things we can learn from the microwave. 1. I have a designer. 2. I was designed for a purpose. 3. I was purchased for a price. 4. I came with an owner's manual. 5. When I am not used properly for the purpose intended by the designer, 5a. I can explode and/or expire from misuse. 5b. I could be damaged. 5c. I could be covered or stained with offending substances. 6. If I survive the misuse, 6a. I can be cleaned. 6b. I could be restored. 6c. Some cleaning takes time. 6d. Some damages may be permanent. 6e. Some stains may become part of me. 7. If I am left to my devices after misuse, 7a. I could become smelly and moldy; 7b. I could contaminate other food or items that come in contact with me; 7c. I may not function properly. 8. I have an expected lifetime. 9. If I served my purpose, then I was well worth the investment. I've written to ease my pain; I've written to hear my voice; I've written for vanity; I've written for sanity; I've written for fun; I've written for laughs; I've written for me; I've written for money. But until I write for God, this talent is for naught. Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
