Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree
by PamFord Davis

Yellow ribbons were everywhere! The idea caught on and spread like wildfire! It became a visible reminder of love and support for our nation and troops serving across the world. Supporters wrapped large yellow ribbons around tall oak trees; others placed small ribbons around mailbox posts or hung the colorful ribbons on front doors. Catchy lyrics to a popular song propelled a united message of hope.

If we see something, we are more likely to remember. God knows the importance of frequent reminders. He asked his people to keep His commands before them. "Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your homes and on your gates (Deuteronomy 6:8-9 NIV)." Many keep a New Testament in their shirt pocket or purse. Maybe we should wrap them with bright yellow ribbons!
