Hernando's Hideaway
by PamFord Davis

Solitude gives us an opportunity to refocus and close out the distractions that hinder communion with Christ. Hiding places are not only for children. Adults also need special places and times to hideaway temporarily.

The security of a safe location beckons. Will we follow our hearts? We unconsciously have a tendency to think of hideaways for only those evading punishment, children who broke the rules or criminals who broke the law. Hiding places are also places of refuge for those with broken hearts.

"You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance (Psalm 32:7 NIV)." When we discover our hiding place is God, we rest in His presence. He surrounds us with a melody of love and freedom from fear.
