HOW TO GET PEACE OF MIND
by Miriam Kinai

If you are tired of mental distress and want peace of mind, the first thing you have to do is to accept Jesus' invitation for He asks all who are overburdened to come to Him and He will give them peace of mind and refreshment for their souls. (Matthew 11:28-30) So come to Jesus today since all you have to do is to say with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and then believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. (Romans 10:9)

The second thing you need to do to alleviate mental distress and attain peace of mind is to take up His yoke or the instructions for living that He sets for us. These instructions are written in the Word of God so read your Bible everyday for all Scripture originates from God to guide us, warn us and correct us. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

As you read your Bible, pray for your eyes to be opened with understanding so that you may be able to discern its truths and its message. Understand also that just reading the Word or listening to it being preached is not enough as you have to be a doer of the Word for mere hearers deceive themselves. (James 1:22)

The third thing you need to do to attain peace of mind even in the middle of a stressful situation, is to learn from Jesus and live as He did. Change your demeanor to emulate Him by being gentle and humble. Stop being a proud abrasive and drop the heavy yoke of trying to live up to the world's a million and one ever changing expectations. Put on the simple one of living only to please Jesus and you will find the peaceful rest that the world cannot give you.
