My Way
by PamFord Davis Self-confidence may put a spring in my step, but doing things my way can also trip me up! If I put confidence in my own abilities or knowledge on any subject, I'm on very shaky ground. The only safe way is placing my confidence in Christ. "We say this because we have confidence in God through Christ. There is nothing in us that allows us to claim that we are capable of doing this work. The capacity we have comes from God; it is he who made us capable of serving the new covenant, which consists not of a written law but of the Spirit. The written law brings death, but the Spirit gives life (2 Corinthians 3:4-6 TEV)." I yield, forfeiting my rights of doing any ministry my way; in exchange, I discover His way to fulfillment and fruit of the Spirit. When He is in control, I follow in the steps of Christ, with a desire to honor the Father and share His love. Christ is the way!
