I'm Leaving It All Up To You
by PamFord Davis

As God's children, and as a nation, we have no one but ourselves to blame. His word makes it very clear; choices do matter. There are times when I wonder how God can be so patient with us. We see two paths; they are clearly marked as blessings or curses. (Deuteronomy 28:1-68) In stubborn pride, we begin a walk down the road to woes.

God began a relationship with man involving choice in a lovely secluded garden. He presented His expectations to Adam and Eve. Reading between the lines, we hear His tender, yet firm voice. I'm leaving it all up to you. Would the first couple choose the blessing of unbroken fellowship or the curse of the knowledge of evil, resulting in death? We know their choice too well.

There is the big decision, to accept or reject God's gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23) Each day there are smaller choices. Time after time He whispers; I'm leaving it all up to you. I need to return to His master plan. "If you obey the Lord your God and faithfully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, he will make you greater than any other nation on earth. Obey the Lord your God and all these blessings will be yours (Deuteronomy 28:1-2 TEV)." He leaves the decision up to us.
