Faraway Places

They are Facebook friends or e-mail companions. Technology has broken down the barriers of distance, allowing us to communicate in ways we never dreamed possible. Faraway places once only read about in novels or encyclopedias, are now accessed through the media, satellites and on-line search engines. Foreign missionaries follow in the steps of Apostle Paul, who traversed by land and sea, carrying the good news of saving grace, through Jesus Christ. The postal service motto of getting the mail through in all kinds of weather conditions might be rooted in the dedication of Paul. "And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, 'Come over to Macedonia and help us.' Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them (Acts 16:9-10 NKJ)." Faraway places still need committed Christ followers to reach them with the life transforming story of Christ crucified and risen!
