More Than Just An Option

The Worst thing about crossing a line, is when you don't know, you already have"-Drake

In the recent "Thank Me Later" album released by Drake we find a song entitle, "Find Your Love". The video, directed by Kanye West, depicts the story of a young man, Drake, in search of Finding the Love of a female. Drake takes major risks in doing so.

In the beginning Drake is in dialogue with one of the locals from a foreign area in regards to a woman he had a previous encounter with. The native, who is apparently more familiar with the operations in the country than Drake, warns him not to direct his attention on a beautiful female who is apparently under the control of the gang. The gang has been known for killing and disrupting the order of the country. Nevertheless, Drake admits his own ignorance by saying, "I don't understand how you can own somebody." Drake takes a chance with his heart and goes against the warning he received, he takes the chance of risking his life to find out.

As the song goes, "More than just a missionYou hear but you don't listenyou better get what you been missing." He gets the attention of the young lady again and to the best of his ability he attempts to get her to understand that she is worth more than just being apart of some daily operation. Drake even recognizes that she comprehends what it is he is saying but she doesn't listen to it. He endeavors to try to give her what he believes she had been overlooking in her life through him.

Drake goes to the house and puts forth great energy to get her. Because there is a barrier between him and her; Drake can not see that she is barred in. While he continues to get at her, he becomes surrounded by the gang and they take him in.

The video end in a secluded location, with Drake sitting in a chair opposite the gang leader (who has the female on his lap). Drake is obviously unable to move from his hands being behind the chair. The leader of the gang then gives the female that he was chasing throughout the video a bullet. She stands directly behind Drake and positions her arms in firing position behind his head. Without ever seeing the weapon and without ever seeing if she uses the bullet for Drake or the leader of the gang we hear three shots and the last thing we see are the words Find Your Love!

The video is considered to be one of Drake's best videos yet! It is as if Kanye West went back some years and had a dialogue with a woman who encountered a similar story.

In John 8:1-11 we encounter a woman who is caught in the act of adultery and she is brought to Jesus by the teachers of scripture. According to law in biblical time's adultery, the act of voluntarily sexual intercourse between a married man and someone other than his wife or between a married woman and someone other than her husband meant the death sentence. How many of times have we willfully became intimate with something that was not apart of the plan that God ordained for our lives? In other words, how many times have we got caught up in behavior that has left us with depression, feeling shame, feeling like we can't move, feeling guilty, having no money, surrounded by hindrances, and out right confused? How many times have you been caught up with something or someone only to realize you are not on the same side? How many times have we used so much energy only to find out that the thing you used the energy on was locked up with "Warning" and "Danger" signs? How many times have we become so intimate with something that has directed us to a dead end? You have to be careful of what you are surrounded by when you end up at the dead end! Isn't it strange how the ones who taught the scripture and the ones who prided themselves on following the instructions of the law where the ones who used the woman's sin to try to accuse Jesus of doing wrong and to challenge his authority?

As the periscope continues, the teachers and the Pharisees elaborate on the woman's situation. Jesus just bent down and started writing on the ground with his fingers. Why did Jesus do this? Well, in the beginning of the video Find Your Love by Drake we noticed the phrase: The Worst thing about crossing a line is when you don't know, you already have. I believe that when the enemy's draw the line as to your dead end, Jesus has the power to rebuke that which had been drawn. Jesus was saying I was sent for the ones that crossed the line and the ones that enemy counted them out. Jesus straightened up and said to them, "How are you throwing stones and you live in a glass house?" Jesus then stooped down and wrote again on the ground. Jesus was asking, "How you condemn others when I didn't condemn them." Jesus was saying I am the one who draws the line! So, what happens next?

Jesus and the woman were left standing there. Jesus gave her the instruction and the answer to Finding Your Love. He said, "Go and leave your life of sin." How do you choose to find your love? Is it leading you to death or life? Jesus gave life and that is More Than Just and Option!
