A Word Now, To Our Daughters
by Laura Swindon-Ross

In these days of glossy magazines and 'pencil thin' (everything!) and plastic surgery isn't it time to remind ourselves of something?
God loves us just the way we are!
He loves us fat, he loves us thin, he loves us no matter what skin we're in, as long as we are mindful of His grace, and remember Love.
Love cures many less-than-perfect images we find there in the mirror.
Love looks out through our own eyes and says hey! Beauty is what grows within and shines out to the world! It's not that perfect smile, that perfect figure, that perfect face that you think you wish for, in the mirror.
Beauty is a state.
It's the confidence to be, everything you believe in, everything you practice, before God.
Beauty is you.
It's the way you smile. It's the color of your hair, be it brunette, be it red, be it blonde (or even grey!).
It's the pleasure that you give to the lives of those around you.
Beauty is the light that glimmers in your day it never fades, not as long as you live your life for God.
Life's a symphony of stages.
Be beautiful in each, and let that magazine serve only to remind you, that beauty has its day, and pages fade... but the eternity of your beauty in God's Kingdom, my darling daughter - that lives on!
