Let There Be Love
by PamFord Davis

I will never cease to be amazed when reading the creation story found in Genesis Chapters 1-2. The sovereign God spoke our world into existence. Nothing happened by coincidence; He made all things. He desired, then through creative action brought all to reality.

Repeatedly we read the introduction to each creation act. "Let there be" I can hear a majestic drum roll as He speaks. All appear at His words. Chapter 1 concludes: "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good (Genesis 1:31a NIV)."

Just imagine what that included:

Light
Day
Night
Evening
Morning
Seas
Sky
Land
Plants
Trees
Sun
Moon
Stars
Birds
Sea Creatures
Livestock
Wild Animals
Man
Woman

Our limited minds cannot comprehend such a marvelous creation. Let there be It is!
Genesis does not include love, but within my heart, I sense somewhere in the creation process, likely at the beginning, God spoke: Let there be love! We see His love displayed from cover-to-cover. God is love; His creation and His word reveal it. Without love, our world would return to chaos, empty and void as described in Genesis 1:2.
