Happy Trails
by PamFord Davis

Happy trails Dale Evans penned the famed theme song for husband, Roy Rogers. The tune became as memorable as his role, King of the cowboys; I grew up with Dale and Roy and the song still makes me emotional.

We all desire happiness and hope we can find the trail, our designated pathway to joy and tranquility. The trail is not always clearly marked and wandering from the lighted trail can lead to disaster. It is easy to lose confidence when we encounter problems along the way.

"The Lord is fully aware of how limited and futile the thoughts of mankind are, so he helps us by punishing us. This makes us follow his paths, and gives us respite from our enemies while God traps them and destroys them. The Lord will not forsake his people, for they are his prize (Psalms 94:11-14 The Book, Living Bible)." His punishment, our trials and tribulations help to keep us on the trail to happiness.
