I Am A Rock
by PamFord Davis

Do you have a short fuse; is it difficult to control your temper? We often simmer our anger on a back burner, stir occasionally and bring to a full boil when provoked. It is a recipe for disaster. If we deal with problems when they arise, we will prevent many health and relationship problems.

We may be Moses' distant cousins. He lost his temper and God closed his door to the Promised Land. "Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals (Numbers 20:8 NKJ)." I believe Moses suffered with selective hearing

"And Moses and Aaron gathered the Assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, 'Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?' Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank (Numbers 20:10-11 NKJ)." Minutes of anger resulted in quick discipline from the Father. (Numbers 20:12) When He said speak to the rock, He meant it!
