These Boots Are Made For Walking
by PamFord Davis

We have regressed to infants, acting as if we are without the ability to walk. For many, walking a distance is a last resort, circling through parking lots in slow motion. They find burning fuel preferable to walking a long way to the business entrance. Why is walking a punishment?

City dwellers once walked their neighborhoods on busy sidewalks. People living out in the country walked miles to stores, schools and churches. Today if we see someone walking, we assume his or her car broke down. Use it or lose it

"So Joshua said to the sons of Israel, 'How long will you put off entering to take possession of the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you? Provide for yourselves three men from each tribe that I may send them, and that they may arise and walk through the land and write a description of it according to their inheritance; then they shall return to me (Joshua 18:3-4 NAS)." God has provided an eternal Promised Land; I look forward to the long walks and opportunity to write a detailed description!
