A Thousand Stars
by PamFord Davis

We think too small; we need to apply a good dose of miracle grow to our prayers. We settle for mediocre days, when God desires to give us red-letter days to store in our memories. Children think big, and are not afraid to bring their requests to parents and to God.

No dream is too big; no problem is beyond the Lord's power to solve. We limit him only by our lack of faith and our rejection of his supply. Abraham's dreams came true and God blessed him far beyond anything he anticipated.

The sky above became God's constant reminder. He had big plans for his friend Abraham. "The Lord took him outside and said, 'Look at the sky and try to count the stars; you will have as many descendants as that.' Abraham put his trust in the Lord, and because of this the Lord was pleased with him and accepted him (Genesis 15:5-6 TEV)." Insomniacs try to fall asleep by counting sheep; Abraham lingered outside counting stars.
