Prisoner of Love
by PamFord Davis

People are held as prisoners for many reasons, some justifiable, others due to a faulty justice system or dictator rule. We rejoice along with family and friends when we receive news of the release of innocent victims. Captors return rights and privileges of freedom to people once living life behind bars.

Roman officials held the Apostle Paul prisoner in jails and house arrest. Such treatment gave him deep insight into the life of a prisoner. "Therefore, though I might be very bold in Christ to command you what is fitting, yet for love's sake I rather appeal to you being such a one as Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ (Philemon 8-9 NKJ)." Jesus held him captive with chords of love.
