A Day In a Life
by PamFord Davis

It is easy to have a critical and ungrateful spirit; I have to work at showing appreciation and offering words of praise. I am always glad when I do. My natural tendency is to be selfish and demanding; God is reminding me of how much He does to reveal His love.

I find it difficult to separate praise and thanksgiving in my prayer life; yet they both deserve individual attention. As I count my blessings, I list specific reasons why I am thankful, God's mercy and forgiveness is reason enough to say thank you. He adds so much more; I have much to be grateful for, including family, friends and daily provisions.

We have the opportunity to pause in busy routines, and simply adore the Lord. Remember his characteristics as Almighty God. He alone is worthy of praise and honor. "I will praise you each day and always honor your name (Psalm 145:2 CEV)." King David made a commitment to offer praise daily; he set a good example.
