Love Versus Lust
by Lauren Alan

Love seeks to meet another's need,
Whereas lust its own desire seeks to feed.
Love says, "I am willing to wait,"
But lust demands now, only later to hate.
Love has morals that are truly strong,
But lust wants to do that which is wrong.
Love persists and doesn't fade away.
Lust, however, is a passion that stays a day
Until it is fulfilled, and then it turns aside
And says, "That's it--I'm done with this ride.
Time to move on--what use do I have for you now?"
And leaves one with a broken heart, not knowing how
To put the pieces back together again.
Love doesn't put someone through this pain.
Oh, I only hope and pray that you'll learn,
That you will one day be able to discern
The major difference between love and lust,
For relationships aren't just sweet words--they're trust!

I have been a Christian for 15 years, and since becoming a Christian, I have made it important to remain a virgin until my wedding night. I am still a virgin and still waiting for Mr. Right. People, wait for your husband or wife, and never mistake lust for love, or your heart will be badly broken!
