Perspective on Aging Well

Perspective on Aging Well

Leaves drifting down
Yellow golden jewels
Orange orbs fluttering
Their final goodbye

Wind whipped scarlet
Tempest tossed, torn
Reminding of snowy winter
Which can't be lingering far

In autumn years
Sunshine's lingering rays
Of summer past
Shine on my back

My face looks
Not to bleak winter
Only to the light
Of heaven's city

Beyond the winter,
I live on shores
Yet unexplored
Ignoring cold of old

Hope being open doored
A smile forming slowly
In cheeks wrinkled
New lines since yesterday

Eyes can almost see
Him who died for me,
Arms opened welcome
This freed child

He guides hesitant footfalls
Age slowed feet making
Progress towards eternal,
Forward walking me
