Don't let me forget that day.
by David Nicoli

The day the cross rose,
The day that saved me.
The day that God chose,
To crucify He.

Sent straight from Heaven,
To teach His way.
To show us to Heaven,
And praise God's name.

Jesus Christ was sent,
Here to forgive sin.
Place to place He went,
Making people clean.

He healed so many,
With a merciful heart.
Not charging a penny,
For their brand new start.

He fed the hungry,
He helped the lonely.
Jesus touched their heart,
So they could know Thee.

All until that day,
When the cross was lifted.
When the Lamb was slain,
And all of us where gifted.

The prince of peace,
And the Lord of Lords.
Treated like a beast,
And not like a God.

Mocked, beaten, spat on,
Laughed at and killed.
He died on that cross,
So we won't get billed.

And while up on that cross,
Jesus still prayed for me.
Father forgive the lost,
And accept the price from Me.

God, open my eyes and heart,
Place the cross in me.
Don't let it ever depart,
And help me always see.

Don't let me ever forget,
The huge debt You paid.
And don't let me forget,
The way You forgave.

My name is David Nicoli, I'm a Christian poet, and absolutely love writing the words that God Himself give me. All the glory be to Him forever!
