Early Bird Gets the Worm
by PamFord Davis

Are you an early riser? Those who know me well are aware that I am usually awake hours before daybreak. I was forced to begin my day early along side my 18 wheeler driver husband. As a truck driver our days usually began around 2-3am. We did not complain; both of us are morning people. We are more alert early in the day, normally take a nap after lunch and go to bed so early that most regular nighttime activities are considered off limits.

The Bible introduces us to another group of "early risers." They are described in the Easter story by Matthew. "and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many (Matthew 27:52-53 NAS)." They were given the first chance of rising, long before the resurrection at Jesus return. The early bird gets the worm; the early risers got to worship the risen Lord!
