Keep yourself busy
by Jasti Victor

Keep yourself busy, Like Abraham did,
Enthusiastic, even in the heat of the day, under his tent,
He kept an eye, on the goings on, on the outside, yonder beyond,
And found three men walking, in the blazing day.

Rushing outside, he brought them into the shade,
Giving them water to wash and drink,
He made Sarah; knead flour to bake bread,
And a young man to dress a lamb.

He made the three eat, looking after their needs,
Abraham fulfilled, the age old custom,
Of inviting and making tired travelers to take rest,
For them to regain their strength, for their journey onward.

By keeping himself busy, Abraham was blessed with a son,
Which considering his age and Sarah's, was just a miracle.
And he also intervened and saved Lot, his brother's son,
From sure destruction, when Sodom was razed to the ground.

Keep yourself busy, Like Abraham did,
And you and your family, will be blessed,
As well as those who are near and dear to you,
A busy person has no time to remain unblessed.
