Freedom Isn't Free
by Marijo Phelps

The price He paid was gruesome
Upon that wicked tree
The death He died so horrible
Purchased freedom for you and me

We need to pause, to think on Him
The costly sacrifice made
Praising and thanking Jesus
For the weighty debt He paid

Giving His life for each of us
Spending all He had to give
Crucified on Calvary
So each of us might live

Ponder upon the debt t'was paid
With God's own blood for you
As Christ was tortured, bled and died
He did what no one else could do

It had to be done by the sinless one
That perfect Calvary Lamb
No one could die for you or me
Except our great "I AM"

So let us not take lightly
This gift which cost Him all
Listening to His Spirit woo
Let's hear and obey His call.
