Reflecting Your Environment
by Dwayne Harris

"My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart." Proverbs 3:1

Perhaps you have seen or heard of the chameleon lizard. This reptile has the unique ability to camouflage itself and quickly blend in with its environment. In just a few moments of time it can change its overall appearance and image. This process will repeat itself over and over again as the lizard relocates from one place to another.

Although we may not change from color to color as the chameleon; we will become directly affected by the environment that we set our life upon. Are you are unhappy with your life? If so, I would ask you to consider just what it is that your life is attached to? It is altogether possible that the things and feelings you are experiencing are a direct reflection of the bedrock that your life is set upon.

The 3rd chapter of Proverbs wonderfully illustrates all of the blessings that we can experience as a believer. Although God promises us many things, we must first set our hearts and minds upon his Word. Simply owning a Bible does not entitle you to its blessings; only when we make it the foundation of our lives will we begin to reflect and inherit its promises.
